Do I have to be a Miles & More member to participate in the promotion?
A Miles & More service card number is required to participate in the promotion. You can enrol in the Miles & More programme here.

What is the Status Match promotion?
Statusmatch.com, in cooperation with Miles & More, the frequent flyer programme of the Lufthansa Group, offers participants who hold eligible frequent flyer status in eligible frequent flyer programmes listed in the table below an equivalent frequent flyer status in the Miles & More programme.

Which Miles & More frequent flyer status can I obtain through the promotion?
Depending on the tier held by eligible status holders, they will receive either Frequent Traveller status or Senator status with Miles & More.

How long will the status be valid if my application for a Status Match is approved?
If your application is approved, you will receive the corresponding frequent flyer status in the Miles & More programme within 10 business days from approval.

The status will be valid until the end of February 2026.

Is there a fee to apply for a Status Match?
Participation in the promotion is 99€.

I hold elite status with an airline not listed in the Tier Mapping table - can I still participate in the promotion?
Only status members of the eligible frequent flyer programmes listed in the tier mapping table can apply.

How long is the Status Match offer valid for?
The Status Match offer is available for a limited time only and may end at any time at the discretion of Lufthansa, Miles & More or StatusMatch.com

What information must I provide to participate in the Status Match promotion?
To participate in the promotion, you need your Miles & More service card number, your eligible other frequent flyer status card number, and a valid e-mail address at which we can reach you.

During the registration process, we will also ask you for proof of your eligible frequent flyer status (e.g., a photo of your status card), and you may be requested to provide and complete an identity check, including your passport or driver's licence.

How long does it take to receive my new Miles & More status through the promotion?
You will be informed within three days after submitting the requested information, whether your status match has been approved. Once approved, it may take up to 10 business days until your frequent flyer status is upgraded in your Miles & More customer account.

After your frequent flyer status has been upgraded, you will receive an e-mail from Miles & More, containing information on how to make the most of your frequent flyer status with Miles & More.

What is the Status Match and how does it work?
From September 1, 2024, SAS will no longer be part of Star Alliance. We understand that many frequent flyers wish to continue enjoying the connectivity, benefits and perks that come with Star Alliance Silver and Star Alliance Gold status.

From now until November 30, 2024, eligible SAS EuroBonus status holders may apply for a Status Match with a participating Star Alliance member carrier.

I don't have SAS EuroBonus Silver, Gold, Diamond or Pandion Status, can I apply?
This offer is only valid for eligible status holders of SAS EuroBonus.

Can I Status Match into more than one Star Alliance member airline with my SAS Status?
No, you may only Status Match your SAS Eurobonus account into one Star Alliance member airline. Once your Status Match application has been submitted, you cannot change your mind later. We recommend looking through the available offers if you are not sure which Star Alliance member airline is best for your future travel requirements.

This includes any travellers who have previous completed a Status Match with Lufthansa, who may not apply for another Star Alliance airline Status Match.

Is there a fee to apply for a Status Match?
Participation in the promotion is free of charge.

I recently did a Status Match with SAS Eurobonus. Can I use this newly status matched Eurobonus account to match into a Star Alliance member airline?
No, to be eligible for the status match, your status with SAS must have been earned through flying or other program activity.

If my application is declined, can I apply to match into a different Star Alliance member airline?
No, if you are declined because you are ineligible for the promotion, you will not be eligible for status with any airline.

Will I lose my SAS Eurobonus status if I apply for a status match?
The SAS Eurobonus status you hold is not affected, although from September 1, 2024, as SAS will no longer be part of Star Alliance from that date, your SAS EuroBonus status benefits may no longer be available on other Star Alliance carriers. To continue enjoying the perks and benefits of Star Alliance you are welcome to apply for a Status Match to a participating Star Alliance member airline. If approved, you will receive the equivalent status that you currently hold with SAS Eurobonus with the airline you select.

How long is the Status Match offer valid for?
The promotion ends on 30 November 2024 or earlier at the discretion of Star Alliance, the individual participating carriers, or StatusMatch.com

What information must I provide to participate in the Status Match promotion?
To participate in the promotion, you need your frequent flyer number for the airline you want to match into, your eligible other frequent flyer status card number, and a valid e-mail address at which we can reach you.

Will I get a membership card or bag tags?
Please review the terms and FAQs of the specific airline you are applying for or ask them directly.

I have lifetime status, will that be matched?
No, lifetime status is specific to each airline and some do not offer it. It is not available under any of these offers. You do not lose your lifetime status SAS, in fact having that security gives you every reason to try a better Star Alliance airline.

Are there any requirements to keep the status?
Each airline has different rules and terms so please review them carefully and make sure of your choice before applying.

Can I claim past sectors as eligible flights under the Status Match offer?
No. Only new flights taken after your approved status match has been upgraded will count towards the qualification criteria required by each airline. Many of these do not include codeshare flights. Please review each airline’s status match offer carefully as changes cannot be made after approval.

Do reward seats count as eligible sectors?
No.

Do I have to enter my Star Alliance member number or EuroBonus number?
You must use your Star Alliance airline program’s member number to receive credit on your account for all Star Alliance and partner airline flights.

I am flying tomorrow and was approved but the upgrade doesn’t show in my account yet?
Sorry you’ll need to wait for the airline to process the upgrade. Each airline has different processing times and the team at [email protected] do not have access to check or fast track these.

Terms & Conditions

These specific Miles & More terms and conditions apply in addition to the general Star Alliance and StatusMatch.com Terms of Service.

  • Only 1 status match per person will be permitted under this campaign.
  • If approved, the status match upgrade is valid until February 28, 2025 and extended by meeting the challenge requirements as follows:
    a) Frequent Traveller Challenge: Complete 2 flight segments with Lufthansa Group airlines or co-issuing Miles & More airline partners* by 30.11.2024 to extend status to 28.02.2026.

    b) Senator Challenge: Complete 6 flight segments with Lufthansa Group airlines or co-issuing Miles & More airline partners* by 30.11.2024 to extend status to 28.02.2026.

    *Eligible airlines: Air Dolomiti, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Croatia Airlines, Discover Airlines, Eurowings, LOT Polish Airlines, Lufthansa, Lufthansa City, Luxair and SWISS.

    Eligible flights must earn at least 1 mile into the Miles & More loyalty program.
  • All status match requests are handled by and are the responsibility of StatusMatch.com and not by Lufthansa, Miles & More or any of its affiliates.
  • In addition to other eligibility requirements, a status match will only be granted to applicant's who's name matches the records in the Miles & More program.
  • With the participation in the campaign, participants acknowledge that the data submitted to Statusmatch.com will be shared with Miles & More purposes.
  • Only eligible status holders will be approved – refer to the table in the FAQs here, for the listing of eligible status holders.
  • The Status Match offer is limited in number of matches and timeframe (until 30 September 2024 or earlier) at the sole discretion of StatusMatch.com and Miles & More. It may end at any time.
  • Members that are approved for a status match will not eligible for any potential subsequent status match with Miles & More.
  • The awarded Miles & More status may be suspended, revoked or terminated by Miles & More in accordance with the Miles & More program terms and conditions.
  • Miles & More reserves the right to deny the status match approval for members who have violated the Miles & More program terms and conditions in the past.
  • Miles & More may take up to 10 days after approval by StatusMatch.com before the upgraded tier is visible in the member's Miles & More account.
  • Approved members will not receive a physical status card. The digital status card is available from the time of upgrade in the Miles & More app.
  • Statusmatch.com, Lufthansa or Miles & More may change the tier-mapping, eligibily criteria, or suspend the promotion at any time without notice.
  • Members that attain a Senator status through this promotion will not receive any eVouchers with the status upgrade and will not be able to use the mileage advance privilege.
  • Any application where StatusMatch.com belives the origin account has not earned the status through flight activity qualifying as per the standard program criteria, or 'chain matched' from another program, will be declined.
  • Flight segments are defined from the following example: Booking from Oslo to Rome which has a stopover or connecting flight from Frankfurt so actually goes Oslo-Frankfurt-Rome = 2 segments towards the challenge requirements.
  • Extensions to 02/26 will be assessed for all status match challenge participants after 30.11.24 and granted where challenge requirements have been met. There is no tracking of challenge requirements in the mobile app.
